The QUORUM Project Is Launched to Boost the Quantum Technology Innovation Ecosystem in Spain

QUORUM es un proyecto de innovación en tecnologías cuánticas

The technological center, together with Fujitsu, the Galician Innovation Agency of the Xunta de Galicia, CESGA, Fidesol, Itecam, QCentroid, and Qilimanjaro, is joining the QUORUM project. The initiative aims to create a collaborative environment to drive innovation in the quantum field in Spain, positioning the country at the forefront of future technologies.

Gradiant will play a key role in the research and development of quantum applications, focusing on knowledge transfer and the creation of accessible training content for various industrial sectors.

As a leader in the QUORUM innovation ecosystem, funded by the CDTI (Center for the Development of Technology and Innovation), Gradiant is committed to fostering collaboration among the participating entities to drive quantum innovation. The project seeks to develop new technological solutions with practical applications across different sectors, while generating knowledge, transferring technology, developing talent, creating innovative businesses, and identifying use cases in the quantum computing domain.

The QUORUM consortium is composed of key entities in technology, research, and innovation, working together to establish a multidisciplinary collaborative environment that supports the growth of quantum computing in Spain. Notable partners in Galicia include CESGA (Galicia Supercomputing Center), the Galician Ministry of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training through the Galician Innovation Agency, and the Fujitsu International Quantum Center, a leading Japanese technology multinational. This project will also contribute to consolidating the Galician Quantum Technology Hub, a strategic initiative by the Xunta de Galicia aimed at positioning the region as an international leader in quantum technologies by 2030.

Gradiant’s main areas of focus within QUORUM include researching and developing quantum applications and creating accessible training materials for various industrial sectors. The Galician technological center will also play a vital role in implementing a communication strategy to promote the project’s achievements and outcomes both nationally and internationally.

The QUORUM project is part of the CDTI’s Innovation Ecosystems Call and is funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds and Spain’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
