Throughout 2023, the center secured more than 16.6 million euros in funding, of which over 1.3 million came from European funds, and achieved a total of 10 licensing agreements. Last year, it developed a total of 153 projects, more than double compared to 2023, of which 89 were national, 47 were limited to Galicia, and 17 were international. The center closed 2023 consolidated as a leader in cybersecurity in Spain by volume of innovative projects and, since its creation in 2008, has generated 3 spin-offs that already employ almost 50 people – Alice Biometrics, dedicated to identity verification; Antexia Technologies, based on anti-drone technology, and Sense Aeronautics, specialized in video analytics for drones that facilitate unmanned operations. A milestone for 2024 is the inauguration of the new headquarters in A Coruña, which will increase Gradiant’s capabilities with a greater approach to the business and institutional fabric of central and northern Galicia. According to Luis Pérez Freire, General Manager of Gradiant, “We continue to grow, betting on technologies with real impact in strategic sectors such as industrial, security and defense, primary sector and natural resources, or aerospace. Our technology is developed by people – we have a team of 231 professionals – and designed to improve people’s lives. The size of the center and its current volume of activity are double those of 2020, in an environment that demands increasing specialization and technological depth. This fact also demonstrates the center’s ability to attract specialized talent.” Between 2023 and 2024, the center attracted a total of 21 professional profiles to Galicia from other geographical areas of Spain or abroad. “The numbers reflect the maturity of the center and the trust our clients place in us. Additionally, we are at the forefront of generating tech startups that bring wealth to the territory, create quality jobs, and feed back into the innovation system.
