On April 30th, the partners of the Facendo Plus project (Industrial Competitiveness and Electromobility through Innovation and Digital Transformation Plus) presented the project’s progress at the Stellantis Vigo plant. With €13.8 million already invested—72% of the total budget—the collaborative R&D initiative has carried out or is currently developing 108 actions.

Led by Stellantis Vigo, the project involves the technology centres CTAG, Aimen, EnergyLab, and Gradiant; the University of Vigo; and SMEs Unimate, SFC Solutions, Probotec, and Merasys. It is co-funded by the Xunta de Galicia through the fifth call of the Smart and Sustainable Factory Programme.

To date, 270 technicians and researchers have contributed over 327,000 hours to activities across four areas: Factory of the Future, Vehicle of the Future, Connectivity and IT Infrastructure, and Sustainability.

The project has a total planned investment of €19 million, of which €9.8 million is public funding from the Xunta de Galicia via the European Regional Development Fund (Feder Galicia 2021–2027).

Launched in 2023, Facendo Plus aims to boost industrial competitiveness and strengthen the automotive value chain in Galicia through industrial research and experimental development. So far, it has led to 12 registered patents and new innovation opportunities. The program will run until September 2026.
