Gradiant will offer a workshop on cybersecurity and a conference on one of the most in-demand ICT profiles

On Friday, an iPAD will be raffled off among the first 90 people who have registered for the draw

As every year, a Gradiant team will be present at the Emprego 2024 technology forum on 5, 6 and 7 March. This event, now in its 24th edition, is one of the most important for our centre as it is an excellent way to establish first contact with students of the three engineering degrees at the University of Vigo: School of Mining and Energy Engineering, School of Industrial Engineering, School of Telecommunications Engineering.

As usual, part of our team will be at the School of Mining and Energy Engineering of the University of Vigo for these days. At Gradiant, we always take advantage of these meetings to show not only what we do and the profiles we are looking for, but also what we offer to our team and those who join us. We talk to interested parties about our corporate culture, the advantages of working with us and the facilities we offer our staff. We are looking for ICT talent and after more than 15 years of experience, our organisation knows how to attract and nurture it in order to retain it.

Cybersecurity workshop

On the first day of the forum, at 10:00, our colleagues from the Security and Privacy area will give the workshop Innovating in cybersecurity with Data Analytics & AI. To attend, come to classroom T109 of the School of Mining and Energy Engineering. Enjoy this workshop on how to apply Machine Learning models and techniques in a simple and methodical way to our data from a security point of view. We will explore concepts such as privacy and anonymisation: why and when we should use it, how it’s measured… And we will also see how we can detect anomalies and potential attacks in information that we usually have available, such as logs, network traffic or user activity in our applications. In short, you can learn how to protect your data and have your data protect you.

Data profiling conference

In addition, our colleague María González is planning to give an interesting conference on 6 March, during the second day of the Technology Forum. Titled Data Profiles: What Can You Work On?, our colleague from the Intelligent Systems area will talk about the main profiles that exist in the “data” world. We’ll discuss what they do, what tools they use and what challenges they face. It will be at 1pm in classroom T104 of the School of Mining and Energy Engineering. Don’t miss it!

Come by our stand with your mobile phone at the ready: We’re giving away an iPAD!

Once again, members of our team will be at stand number 14, next to the elevators and cafeteria in the hall of the School of Mining and Energy Engineering. There, we also have a surprise for you: a QR with which we want to surprise you. If you’re a student of the University of Vigo, scan the QR code and you could have a chance to win a brand new iPAD. The draw will be made in person on 7 March, on the last day of the Forum, at 12 noon at our stand, and the winner must be present to collect the prize. We recommend that you register as early as possible in the days before the event as participation is limited on a first come, first served basis. Remember that you will have to come to the stand at the time of the draw, otherwise you could miss out on the prize. It could be you!
