Gradiant is fully committed to raising awareness of cybersecurity during the III Galician Cybersecurity Meeting (CIBER.gal). This third edition will be held on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 November at the Cidade da Cultura in Santiago de Compostela. Organised by the Galician cybersecurity hub CIBER.gal, it is the benchmark event on cybersecurity in Galicia, bringing together experts and professional educators as well as the general public.
As Juan González, Security and Privacy Director at Gradiant explains, “In the world of cybersecurity, cooperation is essential to exchange experiences on how we are being attacked and what we are doing to defend ourselves”. González also stresses “the importance of activities that take into account citizens in general to help raise their awareness and prevent them from becoming victims of cybercrime”.
Once again, Gradiant will organise the Capture the Flag (CTF) contest on Thursday afternoon, with a series of challenges classified in categories and levels of difficulty. As a competition in a Jeopardy format, various challenges will be presented in the form of questions or tasks for the competitors to solve. Categories may include topics such as cryptography and steganography, exploiting, forensics, reverse engineering and reconnaissance. The winner will win an MSI Thin GF63 12VE laptop and the runner-up an SDR HackRF One. Another SDR HackRF One will also be raffled among all CTF attendees.
