The QUORUM Project is launched to Boost the Quantum Technology Innovation Ecosystem in Spain
The technological center, together with Fujitsu, the Galician Innovation Agency of the Xunta de Galicia, CESGA, Fidesol Itecam, and QCentroid, joins the QUORUM project with the aim of creating a collaborative environment to foster innovation in the quantum field in Spain and position the country at the forefront of future technologies.
Gradiant will play a crucial role in the research and development of quantum applications, focusing on knowledge transfer and creating accessible training content for various industrial sectors.
The technological center Gradiant leads the QUORUM innovation ecosystem, funded by CDTI (Center for the Development of Industrial Technology), with the goal of creating a collaborative environment among the participating entities to promote innovation in the quantum field. This involves developing new technological solutions that can be practically applied across different sectors. The project aims to generate knowledge, transfer technology, develop talent, create innovative companies, and identify use cases in the field of quantum computing.
The QUORUM consortium comprises key entities in technology, research, and innovation to create a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that fosters the development of quantum computing in Spain. Among the partners in Galicia are CESGA (Galician Supercomputing Center), the Department of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training through the Galician Innovation Agency, and Fujitsu’s International Quantum Center (a leading Japanese multinational in technology), along with Fidesol Itecam and QCentroid. Additionally, the project will contribute to consolidating Galicia’s Quantum Technology Hub, a strategic initiative by the Xunta de Galicia to position the region as an international benchmark in these technologies by 2030.
Gradiant’s key focus areas within the QUORUM framework include researching and developing quantum applications and creating accessible training content for diverse industrial sectors. The Galician technological center will also play a fundamental role in implementing a communication strategy to promote the project’s advancements and results nationally and internationally.
The QUORUM project is part of CDTI’s Innovation Ecosystems Call and is funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds and the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
