Several multinationals operate with the Galician center’s system The application detects manipulations in any digital document
Gradiant Valida’s technology that detects manipulations in digital documents to prevent fraud has been used in the last year by more than one million people worldwide. The use of the Galician patent called Valida has been acquired by public administrations, banks and other companies and is used in Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Vietnam and Spain.
The application, conceived and developed by Gradiant, in collaboration with the University of Vigo, is able to reliably overcome one of the most important difficulties faced by digital businesses: the identity verification of their customers.
Gradiant Valida technology deploys an extra level of security in this type of online operations, as it automatically analyzes any type of identity document (ID card, passport, driver’s license, etc.) and other types of digital files in PDF format (payroll, invoices, payment receipts, etc.). Improving the management of electronic identification, both in the public and private sectors, prevents and avoids fraud, identity theft and hacking.
The application does not require connection to external databases to detect modifications and sends an alert if a photograph of a document has been recaptured from a screen, verifying that it is not a photograph of the original document.
Valida uses forensic techniques based on artificial intelligence. The tool designed by the technology center located in Vigo examines the document and returns it showing the manipulated areas through a heat map that indicates where the forgery has taken place.
