Low Latency Optimization in Real-Time Communications for Advanced 5G or 6GOnTim
Gradiant’s work in this project focuses on researching an experimental platform based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and software-defined radio (SDR), with a custom-designed architecture aimed at three main objectives:
• To enable network slicing and multi-RAT access mechanisms in a 5G NR network, allowing the configuration of different quality-of-service levels necessary to study the performance of real-time applications (RTAs) under such conditions.
• To provide the experimental infrastructure required to evaluate the performance of RTAs in the context of converged terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks.
• To research new monitoring mechanisms for quality of service (QoS) parameters in both the core and RAN of 5G networks and beyond, aligned with the quality of experience (QoE) requirements of RTAs.
