The EICOG Project (Development of Natural Language Processing Techniques for Extracting Relevant Information from Clinical Reports of Patients at Risk of Cognitive Decline Generated in the Socio-Sanitary Environment during COVID Scenarios) aims to explore the information contained in clinical reports to identify the impact of the COVID pandemic on patients at risk of cognitive decline.
Gradiant’s role in the project will be crucial. Their work will include preprocessing the data provided by AFAGA, which will enable the preparation and cleaning of information for subsequent analysis. Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques will then be applied to extract relevant information from the clinical reports, focusing on identifying patterns and critical data related to cognitive decline in the context of the pandemic.
The content analysis will be carried out by comparing the frequency of linguistic units found in the reports, in order to detect significant changes or trends. Thus, the EICOG project aims to offer a deeper understanding of the effect that COVID-19 has had on the cognitive health of vulnerable patients, using advanced technology to extract valuable conclusions that can improve socio-sanitary care in the future.
