The main objective of the project is research into the creation of new architectures that enable the massive capture and analysis of data in industrial environments. This work will contribute to advancing the creation and implementation of Industry 4.0.

In addition, this project will focus on understanding the needs of local plants (Gradiant is located in Vigo, an area with a significant industrial sector, including automotive and maritime-related industries) and proposing solutions that also allow existing industries to participate in this fourth industrial revolution. Current reference architectures and new technologies and tools in the various fields involved will be studied, such as industrial communications (e.g., OPC-UA, DDS, or MQTT protocols), massive data analysis (e.g., using tools like Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL, Flink, or Kafka and machine learning techniques), and system integration (Enterprise Integration Patterns, Microservices, Service Discovery) to define and implement both the physical and logical architecture of a platform for industrial massive data analysis, with all the necessary components from data extraction, transport, and transformation from diverse sources (sensors, databases, document management systems, external systems, etc.) to the storage, processing, analysis, and visualization of the information layer.

This R&D project has received funding from the MINISTRY OF ECONOMY AND COMPETITIVENESS under the aid program of the State Subprogram for Incorporation, as part of the State Program for the Promotion of Talent and Employability in R&D&i, with a granted aid of 56,109 €.
