The OPTICON project (Optimization of Cloud Infrastructures and Services with Container Technologies) involves a consortium formed by Torusware, Seidor, and Megasistemas. This project arises in response to the need to optimize resources in cloud infrastructures, where container technology is gaining importance as an efficient new form of virtualization.
Containers offer a new approach to optimization in deploying business applications, based on a microservices architecture. Among the advantages of the OPTICON project are improved computational performance per service, network optimization, the use of public infrastructures to manage workloads, containerized storage virtualization, service lifecycle automation, and transactional application updates.
Gradiant’s role in OPTICON focuses on contributing its technical expertise in container technologies, specifically in computing infrastructure. Additionally, Gradiant will conduct feasibility studies on network deduplication in Docker and work on service management, contributing to improving the efficiency and functionality of cloud infrastructures.
