Wi-MOB112

The Wi-MOB112 project aims to create a telecommunications solution entirely based on GSM, which can be deployed in an area experiencing an emergency situation (such as an earthquake, fire, accident, etc.), replacing traditional systems used by emergency services. It will also allow citizens with mobile phones to use the network (with priority always given to emergency services) to alert about dangerous situations.

The system will consist of autonomous GSM base stations that will communicate with each other and with the main network using wireless WiMAX Mobile technology, implemented through SDR (Software-Defined Radio) technology.
