Gradiant presents Dokken, its upcoming fourth spin-off, at Mindtech
A tool designed to optimize operational efficiency across industries through process automation and improved data management
The validation process with potential clients and early conversations with investors have already begun
Part of the Gradiant team involved in the ItDP project is taking part this week in the new edition of Mindtech by Asime, held at the Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI) from June 17th to 19th. They are presenting the innovative tool they have developed to boost business process digitalization using Artificial Intelligence and generative models. This solution will soon enter the market under the name Dokken, becoming the fourth spin-off of the technology center.
Dokken stems from the ItDP project, funded by the Xunta de Galicia through the Axencia Galega de Innovación’s Ignicia program. The initiative has been developed and accelerated within Gradiant since 2023. The project is now in the final stages of developing its Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and is preparing for market launch under the name Dokken. The validation process with potential clients is already underway, as well as early-stage talks with potential investors to support the next growth phase.
Dokken: Intelligent Document Processing
Dokken is a tool designed for the intelligent processing of common business documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes. Through digitalization and the use of AI, it helps reduce time and costs. “Reviewing these documents manually can take at least 110 seconds per item. Automating this process can drastically cut that time and minimize human errors. Additionally, the tool enables better internal inventory management and the automatic preparation of quotes, invoices, and delivery notes,” explains Faustino Castro Sanjorge, project lead at Gradiant.
“There are several tools on the market focused on field extraction from documents – such as tax IDs or prices on invoices – but most of them rely on templates or pre-trained AI models, which struggle in scenarios involving highly heterogeneous formats or non-textual information. Our tool offers capabilities that are not currently available in other solutions. For example, it not only interprets text but also tables and other types of graphical information such as diagrams, schematics, stamps, or signatures, enabling the application of business logic afterward,” adds Faustino Castro.
The upcoming market launch of Dokken marks another success story for Gradiant in the incubation, maturation, and transfer of technologies, underscoring the maturity of the center, now positioned as one of the national leaders in ICT. Between 2019 and 2024, Gradiant has launched three spin-offs – Alice Biometrics, Sense Aeronautics, and a third company specialized in drone detection, classification, and neutralization technologies – with a combined value exceeding €40 million and over 60 employees. In addition to Dokken, the center is also incubating Kiur, an eHealth solution for chronic wound treatment.
“We have become a national benchmark in the creation of spin-offs, which has always been one of our strategic bets to generate value in our region through the creation of high-skilled jobs and the retention of specialized talent, thus strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Galicia and Spain. With every spin-off we launch, we ensure that the knowledge generated at Gradiant goes beyond the lab and becomes a real solution with business impact,” says Luis Pérez Freire, General Director of Gradiant. “We hope to attract new investors, both public and private, and help drive resources toward the knowledge economy. Investment in technology is both essential and profitable,” adds Pérez Freire.
