The CREATE-IoT project (Cross Fertilization through Alignment, Synchronization, and Exchanges for IoT) aims to stimulate collaboration among Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives, promote their adoption in Europe, and support the development and growth of IoT ecosystems based on open technologies and platforms. To achieve this, synchronization and alignment are required both strategically and operationally, through frequent and multidirectional exchanges among the various activities covered by the European Commission’s IoT Focus Areas.
The project also seeks to foster “cross-fertilization” between different large-scale IoT pilots (LSPs) in areas of technology and validation, focusing on common interests among the various application and use cases. CREATE-IoT will align its activities with the Alliance for the Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI) and work on coordinating and supporting LSPs to maintain the ecosystems developed within those projects. This will be achieved by mapping pilot architectures, addressing interoperability and standardization both technically and semantically in relation to object connectivity, protocols, data formats, privacy, security, trusted IoT, and open APIs. Additionally, these advances will be shared with international initiatives.
