The MOMENTUM project (Multibiometrics for Mobile Device Security) primarily aims to address issues related to insecure authentication methods by combining different biometric recognition modalities, such as voice, face, and signature, on mobile devices.
The project focuses on improving current biometric techniques and combining these modalities to create a more robust multifactor security suite. Key objectives include enhancing performance at the individual system level, optimizing mobile device performance, and implementing intelligent biometric fusion that combines different types of biometrics complementarily.
Moreover, MOMENTUM prioritizes interoperability by adopting relevant international standards such as FIDO and ISO to ensure the system’s compatibility and security. The project also includes the creation of a demonstrator in a real-world electronic signature cloud scenario, which will allow the technology’s effectiveness and security to be validated in a practical and demanding environment.
