This software solution combines drone mission-planning functions with VDES communication-coverage analysis. It can automatically generate grid-scan missions for imaging sensors, calculating the waypoints required to cover a given area based on the drone and camera models used. Its server-based architecture exposes its capabilities through an API and returns missions compatible with UGCS.
It also estimates VDES coverage in a specified area using ITU propagation models. This enables aerial operations and communications to be planned in an integrated manner.

Operational mission and coverage planning
The main application is to support the preparation of drone operations that require systematic image acquisition and reliable connectivity. The system calculates grid flight paths tailored to the aerial platform, sensor and target area, generating a mission that can be used directly in UGCS. It also assesses expected VDES coverage in the operating area using recognised propagation models. This is useful for surveillance, inspection, maritime monitoring, emergencies and deployments where mission activity and communications must be planned together.

Automation, accuracy and reduced operational risk
